With all my heart..... thank you.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all who made the effort to vote for me in the Sept. 9th Democratic Primary.  Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful... but with no regrets.  We ran our campaign the only way I will ever run a campaign...with integrity, honesty, and decency.

It was a close race, and none of it would have been possible without the hard work and full public (and moral) support of the following great people:

Ron, Lisa, & Erica Flynn     Richard Polselli     Bob DiPadua, Sr     Rep. Ray Sullivan     Councilman Anthony Colaluca     School Committee member Kathy Patenaude     New School Committee member Nancy Sprengelmeyer and husband Joe     Kevin & Joanne McGee     School Committee member Michael Reeves and his children Maddie, & Brennan     New School Committee member Tom Hetherman and his wife and daughter Judy & Kayla Hetherman     School Committee member Ben Perra     Irene Dugdale     Bill, Sheila, & Billy Guy     Dick & Maureen Keenan     Maureen Sullivan     Freda Fisher     Stan & Sharon Mruk     Jean Boulanger     Bill & Genny Croll     Matt, Kathleen, Emma, & Grace Daily     Tami, Glenn, Michael, & Cassidy Stallings     Kelly Erinakis and the Coventry Teachers Alliance     Dave Gorman, Mike Stevens, Bob Paul and the rest of IAFF Local 3372     The RI State Assn of Firefighters     The Progressive Leadership Fund     Matt Jerzyk and RIFuture.org     & so many others!!!!

Despite the nonsense that has been going on in the Coventry Democratic ranks lately, those people pulled together in unity for a common goal. bringing back the good old days of friendship, camaraderie, integrity, and a sense of teamwork rarely seen.  For you folks close to Tracy, Sarah, and me; I end this campaign with 4 words from deep down inside: "I will not forget."   If people ask me if you're my friends, my answer will be "No, we're family."

There are two very special people that need no introduction, but have my everlasting love.  The first is someone who never said no to me when I expressed an interest in political office.  Even when she was the target of a lot of unethical personal attacks by political opponents on both sides of the aisle, all she concerned herself with was supporting my endeavors, my wife and partner for life, Tracy.  The second is a little girl who stole my heart on December 4, 2005.  Her mere presence in the room during this campaign made everyone's day and nothing made a campaign meeting come to a halt faster than her nite-nite kisses; my sweet girl, Sarah.  I love you both.

I got into politics because I was taught at a very young age that if you don't like what's going on around you then try to unselfishly and positively change things from within.  I know in my heart that I lived that philosophy.  I've received many calls after my State Rep Primary loss; asking "What's next for Bill".  To all those genuinely concerned, thanks for the thoughts.  Right now my focus is on helping good, honorable Democratic candidates like Harold Trafford in his bid for the Town Council District 4 seat... Mike Reeves in his re-election School Committee run...
Anthony Colaluca's re-election campaign for the District 2 Town Council seat... Scott Pollard in his campaign to unseat Nick Gorham... and of course Rep. Ray Sullivan's re-election campaign in District 29.  I will only support candidates with the same philosophy I've lived by and these gentlemen, along with unopposed School Committee candidates Nancy Sprengelmeyer and Tom Hetherman, share that philosophy.  I'll make a decision regarding my future in politics after this November's election.

My wish for both Scott and Steven Hart is a clean, honorable, issue-oriented campaign towards the November election.

I encourage all my supporters to vote for a full Democratic ticket on November 4th... from Presidential candidate Barack Obama on down; including State Rep Democratic nominee Scott Guthrie.

Thank you again to all my friends, family, and supporters.
